NOKA Design is an independent concept brand founded in Bali in 2021. Since late 2025, it has been led by Anna Manjura, who redefined its creative direction and identity.
We create sculptural candles that express individuality through form. More than decoration, our candles exist between object, material study, and everyday ritual. Conceived as functional art, each piece is designed to be experienced visually, physically, and emotionally.
Over time, it can transform, inviting a deeper engagement with light, atmosphere, and presence.
From Bali, NOKA has grown into an internationally recognised concept brand. Its work has been presented at Paris Design Week and Milan Design Week, and featured by Dwell magazine as one of the Best Emerging Designers of 2022.

EXPERIENCE
A NOKA candle is both an object and an experience. Part of that experience is your decision: whether to preserve it in its original form or light it, allowing its transformation to begin.
The moment a flame appears, attention shifts.
Fire naturally draws focus, creating a sense of presence and inviting a slower way of seeing.
As the candle burns, its form begins to change. Surfaces soften, edges dissolve, and wax gradually transforms into a new composition. What begins as a fixed object becomes an evolving expression of itself.
Each stage invites another decision: to preserve the object as it is or continue the process further.
No stage can be repeated. Every burn leaves a permanent trace, making each candle a unique record of its own transformation.
From initial form development to colour creation, casting, finishing, and packaging, every stage of the process is completed in-house in our Bali studio.
Depending on its size and complexity, a single piece can take from one to two days to complete. Working with carefully selected wax blends and refined finishing techniques allows us to achieve rich colour tones, smooth surfaces, structural stability, and a safe burning experience.
As every object is individually hand-finished, subtle variations in colour, surface and form are a natural part of the process and contribute to its character.
We use paper and cotton in our packaging, reflecting a thoughtful approach to materials and sustainability.
To help preserve your piece, every order includes a care kit with a silk cloth, a protective pad and guidance on how to best use and care for it.
